I specialize in software automation and data management, especially within the Office 365 environment. I'm most at home creating Power BI reports, advanced Excel spreadsheets (including with Office Scripts and/or VBA macros), Power Automate Flows, and more -- ideally synchronizing multiple solutions into a single system to save you time! Need: Allocate millions of dollars according to a bonus plan every week for nearly a year, requiring vast amounts of human effort and time.
Solution: Automatically process all hours worked, evaluated by the company's unique program policies, and output in an easy-to-use format with high-level analytics and low-level breakdowns, with interactivity/filtering on all pages. Suitable for the C-suite and individual HR Directors (with appropriate access restrictions). Scores of hours saved every week with no errors in allocations.
Peer-to-peer PDPM evaluations
Need: Up-to-date PDPM-related data for all buildings with their breakdowns, averages, and building comparisons. Prohibitively time-consuming for manual work and likely impossible to manually process without frequent errors.
Solution: Automatically evaluate all buildings' PDPM data and present it in an easy-to-use format with a high level of interactivity/filtering. Capable of displaying high-level data or low-level breakdowns as needed, including by CMI.
Custom desktop data processing
Need: Excessive time spent locating ICD-10 codes in documents and then manually entering these into online system. Lost time, opportunity for human error, potential for lost revenue.
Solution: Desktop tool to import data from PDF, extract relevant medical codes, allow user to edit/customize if desired, then automatically enter data into online database. Significant time savings, huge reduction in opportunities for human error, increased revenue opportunities.
Spreadsheet schedule automation
Need: Daily shifts must be printed and posted per state requirements. This required manual copying of data every day with many opportunities for human error.
Solution: Automatically generate daily shift overviews from scheduling system (also built by me). After entering one data point (patient census), document is immediately ready for printing. State compliance successfully met, significant time saved, data far more reliable than when daily copied or typed by hand.
Instructions available for users
Need: New tools and new processes inherently include a learning curve. Employees need a resource for direction on how to carry out new processes.
Solution: While I am available to provide support, for more immediate needs or a quick refresher, instructions are available for users to reference anytime. Both high-level overviews as well as more detailed steps included. Readily-available guidance for employees anytime.
Custom desktop application tools
Need: Excessive time spent manually reading and processing state-sourced PDFs. Lost time, opportunity for human error, highly inefficient.
Solution: Tool to evaluate PDFs, process into separate files, and extract and present all needed data. User-friendly, error-free, and configurable. Time saved, errors reduced.
Events previews
Need: Leadership and supporting staff should have a guide to overview important events for the next 48 hours to ensure inter-department communication and cooperation; proper preparation; increased patient satisfaction; and reduced patient early discharges.
Solution: Generate events for current and next day from external systems (created by me) and display these automatically in one location. The user clicks one setup button and the document is automatically updated and ready for review or printing. Substantial time saved; substantial increase in staff preparedness and inter-department communciation/cooperation; major mistakes or problems frequently averted.
User-accessible spreadsheet configurations
Need: Process and present aggregate data for a facility's patients from an entire year. Creating this by hand required large amounts of time and allowed for significant opportunities for human error.
Solution: Spreadsheet automatically extracts relevant data from existing system reports, evaluates and sorts it into tables, and presents it as needed. (Cannot show due to patient confidentiality.) Here settings are available if changes to this process are required for future years. Includes automatic error detection if the user misconfigures anything. Significant time saved and errors eliminated.
Financial tracking
Problem: Updating building financial records manually takes significant time and allows for many identified errors, resulting in unreliable aggregate data that high-level management relies on.
Solution: Standardize system for financial data (elsewhere) and automatically update financials for buildings and building portfolios. Significant time saved and minimal opportunity for human error; errors in calculations/aggregations are no longer possible.
Customizable to-do lists
Need: Management with very high number of tasks in a variety of categories cannot easily track all items. Some resort to paper lists, others to digital, but all require manual scanning and checking, resulting in missed items and mistakes.
Solution: Create a set of customizable to-do lists. Elements have optional due dates and may be flagged as priority tasks. Dashboard displays these elements with a variety of options, including showing all elements or only those from one list; organizing by date or priority; and highlighting prioritized or past-due tasks. Significant time saved for managing long lists of immediate and future needs, improved efficiency, improved reliability, reduction in tasks overlooked and deadlines missed.
Code extraction desktop app
Need: Reliable way to extract medical ICD-10 codes, especially for untrained management; codes are easily overlooked or misread/mistyped.
Solution: Desktop app automatically extracts medical ICD-10 codes from text and optionally copies the list of codes to the Windows Clipboard.
About Me
I’ve been building software solutions for companies since 2019. I primarily work in MS Office and in Python. With Office I’ve built a huge variety of solutions with Power BI, Power Automate, advanced Excel spreadsheets using Office Scripts and VBA coding, Power Queries, PivotTables, and more. In Python I’ve built apps using Flask, Tkinter, Pandas, Openpyxl, and dozens of smaller libraries.
I’ve created interactive, automated tools to meet companies’ needs for staff scheduling; data entry; inventory management; importing, processing, and presenting financial data; and much more. I harness the power of AI to efficiently and reliably build the tools you need, and I love being challenged with a new problem to solve.
In my free time when I’m not coding or learning about coding, I enjoy hanging out with my mini bernedoodle Liza, playing board games (though Liza hasn't quite caught on yet), drinking tea, playing video games, and watching quality horror.
